Mineola Courthouse

Justice Grimaldi sits at the Nassau County Supreme Court civil courthouse at 100 Supreme Court Drive, Mineola, NY 11501. Status conferences in this Part are handled at the courthouse. Practitioners should confirm the conference date, courtroom, and whether virtual participation is available through the Part Clerk.

Status Conference Calendar

Status conferences in Nassau Supreme Court are used to keep civil cases moving toward trial readiness. Counsel should arrive with a current status of discovery, any outstanding authorizations, the deposition schedule, and any dispositive motion posture. The Part expects counsel to be prepared to commit to specific discovery dates, not to request open-ended extensions.

NYSCEF Filing

Nassau County Supreme Court requires NYSCEF filing for most civil matters. All status conference orders, discovery orders, and case management directives are docketed through NYSCEF. Counsel should confirm that all prior conference orders and discovery directives are on the docket before the conference.

Discovery Proceeds on the Court’s Schedule

A pending summary judgment motion does not stay or adjourn the compliance conference schedule. The Part’s consistent posture is that discovery continues in parallel with dispositive motion practice. Counsel planning an MSJ should continue to meet discovery deadlines while the motion is briefed.

Practitioner Intelligence

From attorneys who have appeared in this part. Last updated: April 2026.

Discovery Proceeds on the Court's Timeline

Justice Grimaldi will not stay or adjourn a compliance conference because a summary judgment motion is pending. Discovery continues on the part's schedule regardless of MSJ posture. Do not arrive expecting to trade a discovery schedule for motion priority.

What You Need to Know

  • No adjournment for pending MSJ. A request to adjourn a CC until after summary judgment is decided will be denied. Come with dates you can live with.
  • Real discovery dates. Expect specific deadlines for paper discovery, depositions, and any outstanding authorizations. Those deadlines are enforced.
  • Move in parallel. If you have a dispositive motion in mind, file it and keep discovery moving. Do not plan around a motion practice pause.
  • Confirmed again in March 2026. The part maintained this posture on a preliminary conference where plaintiff's side requested adjournment to await MSJ resolution.

Practice Notes from Recent Appearances

At a March 2026 appearance, the court directed discovery dates forward notwithstanding a pending plaintiff MSJ. The ruling lines up with Justice Grimaldi's consistent pattern. Do not assume Nassau will behave the way some downstate parts do when MSJ is on the horizon. Discovery is the priority until the dispositive motion is decided.
