Calendar
In-person motions and conferences are heard on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. Virtual conferences are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays as scheduled. “Oral argument is heard solely at the discretion of the Court.” Motions pending in the Submissions Part (60 Centre Street, Room 130) follow that part's rules.
Foreclosure Conferences and Settlement Conferences
Residential foreclosure conferences required by CPLR 3408 are conducted by the assigned Court Attorney Referee, not by the Judge. “Settlement conferences are not held in the part, they are usually held at 60 Centre Street in room 130.”
Who Attends
“Counsel attending conferences shall be familiar with the case and have authority to discuss and stipulate to resolve all discovery issues.”
Adjournments
A preliminary or compliance conference may be adjourned once on consent for no more than 30 days, by a stipulation e-filed and filed with the Part Clerk at least 24 hours before the conference. A calendared motion may be adjourned only on consent of all parties by written stipulation 48 hours in advance.
Orders to Show Cause
An order to show cause is e-filed first, then processed by the Ex Parte office (646-386-3125) for a sequence number, then sent to the part. A TRO does not mean the application will be heard the same day; the Judge will set a return date for argument, put it on submission, or decide it on the papers.
Communications
“No ex parte communications will be entertained under any circumstances.” Letters exchanged between counsel should not be copied to the Court.
Always verify the current Part Rules with the Part before any appearance. The court publishes updates and assignment changes through nycourts.gov.
Before You Send a Covering Attorney
The published name of the part does not tell you everything that is on its calendar.
- Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. is the in-person calendar. Other conferences may be virtual; read the notice.
- Send an attorney with authority to stipulate on discovery.
- A conference can be adjourned only once on consent, and only by a stipulation filed 24 hours ahead.

What to Expect
Part 32 is published as the Mortgage Foreclosure Part, but the conference our office covered there in September 2026 was a personal injury action, so expect general civil matters on its Tuesday calendar as well.
Field Note: September 15, 2026
Our office appeared in person for plaintiffs at a 10:00 a.m. status conference in Room 1127B, the fourth appearance in the case. The court found that its prior order had not been complied with and set a full schedule: staggered depositions of six parties and witnesses over about four months, IME designation, examination, and report periods of 45 days each, and 30-day deadlines for each outstanding demand. The order provides that any discovery issue not raised in it is deemed waived absent good cause. The next status conference, in person, was set about four months out, on the same day as the note of issue deadline. This is an account of one appearance on one date, not a published rule.
