Book an AppearanceBrooklyn Is Where Most Per Diem Work Happens
Kings County Supreme Court, Civil Branch at 360 Adams Street is one of the highest-volume civil courthouses in New York State. Much of its discovery practice runs through central parts rather than the assigned justice, which means long waits in a crowded room for a stipulation that takes five minutes to sign. That wait is the reason firms send per diem counsel to Brooklyn instead of their own associates.
Our office covers Kings County appearances every week. We know the rooms, the calendar calls, and the paperwork each part expects, and we send you a written report the same business day.
The Kings County Parts We Cover
- Central Compliance Part (CCP), Room 282. Compliance conferences, discovery schedules, and so-ordered stipulations. Our Kings County CCP guide walks through the part.
- Final Conference Part (NI-FCP). The last stop before the note of issue, where discovery deadlines are enforced strictly. See our Final Conference Part guide.
- Discovery motions (CDMP Part 25). Kings County runs discovery motions on their own calendar. See our CDMP guide.
- Jury Coordinating Part (JCP). Calendar calls and trial readiness conferences. See our JCP guide.
- IAS parts. Preliminary conferences, status conferences, motions, and orders to show cause before the assigned justice. We read the justice’s part rules before every motion.
- Depositions. EBTs, EUOs, and 50-h hearings, in person or remote. See our deposition services page.
Two Buildings, Not One
Most Kings County civil parts sit at 360 Adams Street, but not all of them. Part 13 sits at 320 Jay Street, and a covering attorney sent to the main courthouse for a Part 13 motion misses the calendar. We confirm the building and the part on eCourts before we dispatch anyone.
A few individual parts in Kings County require the attorney of record or an associate of the firm rather than per diem counsel. When a part is one of them, we tell you before you book rather than after the calendar is called. Part-by-part detail is in our Kings County Supreme Court guide and the Kings County judge directory.
What Our Report Tells You
Orders taken at a Kings County CCP or Final Conference Part appearance are proposed orders. They are submitted and then uploaded to NYSCEF, and the filed terms can differ from what was written in the part. Our report says so and tells you to calendar from the order that appears on NYSCEF. It also lists every date the court set, what each side agreed to produce, and anything you need to do before the next appearance.
Pricing
Per diem services are available to attorneys and law firms only. Coverage is billed at a flat rate per session rather than by the hour, and morning and afternoon sessions are billed separately. Depositions, EBTs, and 50-h hearings carry their own flat rates. Published rates are on our per diem services page, and we quote the exact rate when we confirm the appearance.
