Four Buildings, One Court

New York County Supreme Court, Civil Branch sits in four buildings in lower Manhattan: 60 Centre Street, 80 Centre Street, 111 Centre Street, and 71 Thomas Street. The most common avoidable mistake an out-of-county firm makes is sending someone to the wrong one. 71 Thomas Street is not part of the Centre Street complex, and it houses a substantial share of the bench.

Sometimes You Do Not Need Us

In the DCM part, if counsel submit a completed preliminary conference stipulation and order form before the conference date and the court finds no problems with it, no appearance is required. When that is an option on your case, we tell you, because the cheapest appearance is the one nobody has to make.

Adjournments have a limit too. Under Uniform Rule 202.8(e)(1), a motion may be adjourned on consent no more than three times, for a total of no more than 60 days from the original return date. We tell you when your motion is at the limit.

Pricing

Per diem services are available to attorneys and law firms only. Coverage is billed at a flat rate per session rather than by the hour, and morning and afternoon sessions are billed separately. Depositions, EBTs, and 50-h hearings carry their own flat rates. Published rates are on our per diem services page, and we quote the exact rate when we confirm the appearance.
