Conferences
“Conferences shall be held in person on Tuesday mornings beginning at 10:30 A.M.” They must be attended by “an attorney familiar with case and with full authority to enter into stipulations.” A preliminary conference order may be agreed, completed, and signed in advance and submitted through NYSCEF in lieu of an appearance. Compliance conference dates are entered in the preliminary conference order for a Tuesday.
Motions
All motions are calendared for Tuesdays and marked fully submitted on the return date unless adjourned by stipulation or by the Court. “Appearances are not required unless oral argument has been timely and properly requested and granted, or otherwise ordered by the Court.” No motion to preclude, strike, or compel discovery is permitted without a pre-motion conference.
Orders to Show Cause
All orders to show cause are made returnable on Tuesdays. One made returnable on another day is administratively adjourned to the Court's next available Tuesday.
Adjournments
Absent extenuating circumstances, adjournment requests for Tuesday conferences must be received by the close of business the preceding Friday, with all parties notified. “No matter shall be deemed adjourned until granted in writing by the Court.” Appearances are required unless the Court has granted an adjournment in writing.

Everything in this part runs on Tuesday, and adjournments close the Friday before.
- Adjournment requests are due by close of business the preceding Friday.
- Nothing is adjourned until the Court grants it in writing.
- The part sits at the Cromarty Court Complex in Riverhead. Plan the travel accordingly.

What to Expect
Part 24 runs a Tuesday morning conference calendar in person in Courtroom 10.

Our office appeared in person for a plaintiff at a 10:30 a.m. pre-trial conference, which was conferenced with the clerk. The conference was adjourned about five weeks. The clerk directed corrections to the note of issue and advised that if the corrections were made and the parties emailed the Court, the case would be remanded and no appearance would be needed on the adjourned date. This is an account of one appearance on one date, not a published rule.
