Practitioner Intelligence

Observations from our office's appearances, kept separate from the published rules above. Last reviewed: November 2, 2026.

What to Expect

Justice Reo expects court-ordered depositions to go forward, and a missed deposition date can bring a final-chance order with a strike provision.

Field Note: October 22, 2026

On October 22, 2026, our office appeared for a plaintiff at a compliance conference. The court was not pleased that depositions had not gone forward as scheduled, and dismissal was sought at the conference. Justice Reo gave the plaintiff one final opportunity, so-ordering virtual depositions about six weeks out and providing that if the plaintiff failed to appear, the defense could make an oral application to strike the complaint. That is an account of a specific appearance, not a published rule.
