Commercial Division Part
Part 53 is a Commercial Division part. Cases are assigned under the Commercial Division monetary and subject-matter thresholds, and the Commercial Division Rules in 22 NYCRR 202.70 apply in addition to the Part 53 rules. The current Part 53 rules were revised March 25, 2026.
Appearances
Part 53 accommodates in-person, hybrid, and fully virtual appearances on Microsoft Teams, but every appearance is scheduled as in person unless the court directs otherwise. Oral argument is heard Monday through Friday as scheduled. Conferences are held Monday through Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Papers and Submissions
Courtesy copies are not accepted without the court's permission. Proposed orders and stipulations are emailed to chambers in both PDF and Microsoft Word. Proposed orders to show cause must be e-filed rather than emailed. Demonstrative evidence requires the court's prior approval.
