Oral Argument Is Virtual
“Oral arguments are generally held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at half-hour intervals from 10:00 am through 12:00 pm.” “Oral arguments are held virtually via Microsoft Teams.” The Court reserves the right to direct that argument be held in person on any motion.
Monday Means Submission
A motion appearance scheduled in Part 18 on a Monday “is for the submission of papers only and no appearance (virtual or in-person) is required,” unless argument was requested in advance and confirmed, or the Court directs an appearance.
Conferences
“Conferences are held virtually via Microsoft Teams.” “Parties may submit a stipulation or proposed status conference order in lieu of appearing virtually at the scheduled compliance or status conference. Such submissions shall be received the day before the scheduled appearance.”
Adjournments and Defaults
Email the Part 18 Clerk to request an adjournment at least one business day before the scheduled appearance. “Parties not in compliance may be defaulted for nonappearance.”

This is an e-file part, and working copies are not required. Do not call chambers or the Part Clerk to ask whether or when a decision will issue.

Our office went to 71 Thomas Street on the return date of an order to show cause that eCourts showed as scheduled. The case was not on the calendar. The clerk advised that the action was stayed but could not say why. NYSCEF showed that the action was administratively stayed and that counsel was to submit a status letter by the next day. Before sending anyone to this part, read the NYSCEF docket, not only the eCourts calendar. This is an account of one appearance on one date, not a published rule.
