What to Expect
On Justice Chesler's City cases, discovery conferences are often held in the DCM Part, and the schedule ends up in a stipulation and order signed later, so the filed copy controls.
Field Note: October 22, 2026
On October 22, 2026, our office appeared for a plaintiff at a compliance conference on a City case assigned to Justice Chesler, held in the DCM Part. The parties entered a stipulation and order setting depositions about six and a half months out, with 45 days for post-deposition demands and responses. The copy received at the part was unsigned, and the year written for the next conference date had already passed, so the order as filed on NYSCEF controls. That is an account of a specific appearance, not a published rule.
