What to Expect

Preliminary conferences in Part 65 use the part's own Preliminary Conference Stipulation and Order for malpractice actions, so the attorney who appears should come ready to fill in deposition and records dates.

Field Note: October 27, 2026

On October 27, 2026, our office appeared for a plaintiff at a preliminary conference. Counsel executed the Part 65 Preliminary Conference Stipulation and Order for medical, dental, and podiatric malpractice actions, with 20- and 30-day deadlines for authorizations, the defendants' bills of particulars on affirmative defenses, and the defendants' records and films, a plaintiff's deposition deadline about eleven weeks out, and a compliance conference on a Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. about thirteen weeks out. That is an account of a specific appearance, not a published rule.
