Conferences Are in Person
“All conferences will be held in-person at 60 Centre Street, Room 442, New York, NY 10007.” “Failure to timely appear may result in dismissal, an order entered on default, or other sanction, as appropriate and in the Court’s discretion.”
Counsel Must Have Authority
“Counsel attending the conferences are expected to be familiar with the case and have authority to discuss and stipulate to resolve all disclosure issues. Appearances by counsel without authority may be deemed a default.”
Adjournments
“Do not contact chambers to request adjournments of motions or conferences.” A request “must be made at least 48 business hours in advance of conference and must indicate whether all parties consent to the adjournment,” with the stipulation emailed to the Part Clerk.
Motions
Motions are returnable in the Motion Support Part Courtroom. “Motions will only be scheduled for oral argument at the Judge’s discretion.” “Letter motions are prohibited and will not be considered.”
Discovery Motions Need a Conference First
“ANY MOTIONS RELATED TO DISCLOSURE MAY NOT BE FILED WITHOUT FIRST CONFERENCING THE MATTER WITH THE COURT.”
Always verify the current Part Rules with the Part before any appearance. The court publishes updates and assignment changes through nycourts.gov.
Before You Send a Covering Attorney
- An appearance by counsel without authority may be deemed a default. The covering attorney needs authority to stipulate on all disclosure issues.
- Conferences are in person in Room 442.
- Adjourn at least 48 business hours ahead. A late request not on consent will not be considered, and counsel must appear to apply.

What to Expect
Part 12 conferences turn on disclosure, so the attorney who appears should know what has been exchanged and what the client will agree to.
Field Note: October 28, 2026
On October 28, 2026, our office appeared for a defendant at a conference. The court accepted a fully executed stipulation adjourning the conference, and the conference was adjourned about seven weeks. That is an account of a specific appearance, not a published rule.
